One of the fastest growing commercial membranes available

Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing systems are among the fastest growing commercial membranes available. These single-ply roofs are made of synthetics and reinforcing scrim and cover flat roof substrates. TPO is highly damage resistant, reflective, and versatile, leading to high demand.

TPO roofing systems are somewhat new to the industry, first arriving in the United States in the 1990s, but already make up more than 40% of commercial roofing membrane installed in the U.S. due to their durability and cost-effectiveness.

Single-ply roofing has rapidly grown in popularity over the past few years. Single-ply membrane roofing consists of flexible sheets of synthetic polymer. There are thermoplastics and synthetic rubber membranes.

Advantages of TPO Roofing

TPO roofing has a lot of advantages that contribute to its growing popularity:

  • Environmentally Friendly: Eco-friendliness is a trait that more and more people are looking for in every area of their life and business. TPO is a great eco-friendly option for roofing.
      • Unlike many other roofing materials, TPO does not contain chlorine, which is an eco-hazardous chemical.
      • TPO membranes tend to be white, which reflects sunlight and lowers AC bills. Not only is this great on your wallet, but it means less energy usage as well.
      • TPO is 100% recyclable, and used roofing material can be reused on future projects.
  • Flexibility: TPO membrane is very flexible, tear and puncture resistant, and capable of experiencing structure movement/settling without damage.
  •  UV Resistance: Ultraviolet rays from the sun are one of the biggest contributors to a roof’s decline, but TPO withstands it far more easily than other roofing materials. TPO roofs have longer life expectancy and lower HVAC costs by insulating your home against the sun.
  • Strength: TPO roofs have heat-welded seams, which are flexible but four times stronger than rubber roofing seams, which use adhesive or tape.

Class A Fire-Rated: Fire retardant chemicals can be added to TPO membranes during production to earn a Class A fire resistant listing from Underwriters Laboratories.

Protect Your Investment

A commercial roof is no small investment. The roof itself is expensive, but it also provides protection for the building itself and all the valuable things inside of it. If your roof suffers a significant failure, you could lose everything. Keeping your roof well-equipped to handle that responsibility is crucial for your business’s success.
